20 Little Things to Treasure in Autumn

Autumn Mums

Fall is here, fall is here...it's the best time of the year!

Over at The Inspired Room, Melissa is challenging us to create a list of 20 things that inspire us this time of year.

Here are a few of the things that delight my heart in Autumn:

1. the colors of fall
2. the crisp breezes in the air
3. pumpkins
4. sitting outdoors by our chiminea smelling the burning pinion wood
5. snuggling with my kiddos under a soft throw
6. autumn baking - especially the spice and pumpkin breads
7. Thanksgiving and all that this special holiday represents - gratefulness, thankfulness and recognition of all the blessings God has bestowed upon us
8. fall decorations in my home and homes I visit
9. pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks
10. taking my kids to pick out pumpkins at the pumpkin patch
11. sweaters and boots
12. candles
13. fall festivals
14. neighborhood garage sales
15. opening all the windows and enjoying the smells and sounds of the outdoors
16. soups, spicy chili, cornbread and pinto beans
17. corn dogs at the fair
18. hayrides
19. mums
20. high school football games (Longhorns, too!)

Hi Sassy,
I am responding to a comment you left on my blog - andevenif.blogspot.com

How exciting that you are thinking about adoption! We have two blogs set up for our last two adoptions. I didn't even know about blogging when we adopted Molly in 2003 :) Our first blogging attempt during Madelyn's adoption was pretty pathetic, but Mason's was a little better. Here are the links to both:

Please keep in touch and let me know if I can answer any questions for you.

Good idea with the list! I will have to add that to my little blog. I finally have my fall decor up (herniated discs be dam*ed!) and am having a little recipe exchange tonight. I'll post some pics tomorrow. Love ya!

Wes is on call and more than likely well be home late...so good for me! ha! I read alot of the blogs on your sidebar too. Love the stripes and your banner. Come on over and see me. I don't know if you remember I have a blog as well. Can't wait to go through and see the sneak peaks of your house! Isn't blogging fun! Who would'a thought!!!

What???? You're thinking about adopting??? You've come to the right place, talking to my sister. After three adopted cuties, she's a pro. :-)

As for fall, fall in Tulsa is spectacular!

Nice list...one of my favorite things on it is corndogs. I haven't even thought of one for years, but I won't be able to forget until I round one up.

~ Humility ~

Humility is perpetual quietness of heart.
It is to have no trouble.
It is never to be fretted or vexed, irritable or sore,
To wonder at nothing that is done to me,
to feel nothing done against me.
It is to be at rest when nobody praises me,
And when I am blamed or despised;
it is to have a blessed home in myself
where I can go in and shut the door
and kneel to my Father
in secret and be at peace,
as in a deep sea of calmness, when all
around and about is trouble.
